First day of school.

Another milestone, Sefton's first day of school. Second grade.

There was still a tinge of sadness, our little boy growing up. Getting bigger. Also, so much relief. Although this summer was wonderful, K and I are thankful he's in the hands of another grownup for six hours during the week.

For comparison, we lined up his first day of school pictures, from preschool through the present.

His hair has definitely gotten more epic. He's been going to occupational therapy for about a year now to help him with his sensory needs. K and I noticed how, this year, his hands are calmly in front. First grade he didn't quite know yet what do with them. For kindergarten, his "blinkers" were in full force. He was nervous, poor little guy. We're really proud of him for how brave he's always been on this first day back to a new grade. It's gotten easier, sure. But yeah, I still get a little sad every time I see him walk into school in the morning, knowing when he comes out at the end of the day he'll be a little bit bigger.
