JØTUL GF 160 FIREPLACE INSTALLATION, PART 4: Propane conversion
Since we're installing our Jøtul GF 160 ourselves, that meant I also had to do the conversion from natural gas to propane. Before we actually bought our fireplace, I had read through all of the materials Jøtul provided online. Their instructions were incredibly detailed and easy to follow so I was confident tinkering with the conversion myself.
In the end, it really was just following their instructions and taking my time.
Yes, there were a lot of little pieces to fiddle with and to replace. I only ever used a 1/4" socket drive to ensure I couldn't over-torque anything. Once the miscellaneous parts were replaced (LP orifice, regulator motor, baffle, burner, and pilot shield), it was just a matter of putting it all back together.
Of course there was coffee involved. We'll know if my conversion worked once we can hook it up to the gas line. Fingers crossed…
