WSJ.
I noticed this post on the Facebook earlier this week:
Turns out the spot K and I got married, well, made it into an article in the Wall Street Journal. That photo is Our Tree. The tree under which we were wed. Both of us had always noticed it, separately and then together. When we got engaged, we knew we'd get married under it.
Given the content of that article and how it compares scoring a permit to the Enchantments on par with winning the lottery (getting a permit is, in fact, done through a lottery), it still amazes us that during the entire time we were there getting ready and then for our ceremony, a few hours total… not a single person walked past us on the trail. Oh, and that we had scored four permits for our group. It was meant to be.
We had this magical spot on that magical day completely to ourselves.
We haven't been back since. Some day we'll hike the Enchantments in a day just for fun. It's only forty-five minutes from home. At some point, we'll take S and the little Little. Most importantly, we have our memories of an absolutely perfect wedding spent in the mountains with our friends and family.
