Scrap concrete = a table.

K is a genius. She saw a piece of concrete leaning up in our backyard, connected some dots, and boom... front porch table.

What were the dots? The fact we had this table we got free from what REI called the 'mock store' (an internal storefront they used to test fixtures and such) when they were throwing it out. It graced the backyard in our old house for a few years.

There, it had a wood top that at one point was nice before it sat outside. So we tore off the wood, but chose to keep the metal base because we thought it was cool and would fit our new house. It was by far the trickiest thing to pack in the moving truck. By far.

Anyhow, K was looking at the concrete scrap and thought, Hmm... that looks like the size of this random metal table base we have that isn't doing anything. Cool stuff. Good for working on, drinking coffee. The propane heater is courtesy of her parents.
